Understanding Brow Lamination: An Insight into the Newest Beauty Craze

Brow lamination is one of the hottest beauty trends right now, but what exactly is it, and why is it so popular? Brow lamination, sometimes called an “eyebrow perm,” involves using semi-permanent styling products to give your eyebrows a neat, smooth, and shiny look. It’s like using clear eyebrow gel or soap, but the results last longer because the individual hairs are lifted and straightened, making them easy to shape every day.

This treatment gives the brows a fuller, more polished, and natural appearance without needing to use a brow pencil or shadow. It’s an excellent option for those who want to cut down on their makeup routine.

The process begins with applying a cream to lift and straighten the brow hairs. Then, the brows are brushed upwards to set them in place, followed by a fixing solution to hold them there. Sometimes, a nourishing oil is applied afterward to soothe any dryness.

To enhance your results, you can opt for additional treatments like tweezing or waxing for a sharper arch, trimming for a clean line, or even tinting to define your brows more clearly.

After your brows are laminated, avoid touching them or getting them wet for the first 24 hours, and stay away from heavy makeup during this time. It’s also best to avoid sunlight and sunbeds for 48 hours as your skin can be more sensitive post-treatment.

Keep your brows conditioned with a nourishing oil or serum twice a day to maintain hydration. These products can also help extend the lamination results.

The effects of brow lamination last about four to six weeks, but you’ll still need to brush them with a spoolie each morning to maintain that fluffy look. Over time, your brow hairs will naturally revert to their usual state, so you’ll need another treatment to keep them looking styled.

When compared to microblading, which uses fine needles to apply semi-permanent pigment to the skin, brow lamination is less invasive and lasts for a shorter time, typically between one and three years depending on individual care. However, brow lamination is more affordable and perfect if you’re looking for temporary results without the commitment of microblading.
